Parenthood Superiority Complex
I want to clear this up directly so that you, the viewer, don’t have to guess my intentions or assign a motive to my words. I’ll simply tell you 😉 👉🏽
Who is this for?
This education is open to everyone.
• Parents
• Those considering parenthood
• Those who are child-free by choice
👉🏽 Why do I teach this topic, and everything else I speak about? As an educator, when I see a knowledge gap in society, it genuinely excites me. I see it as an opportunity to educate, raise awareness, challenge misconceptions, and advocate for the right of all people to make personal life choices free from unnecessary judgment and misinformation.
👉🏽 My intentions are simple: My intentions are simple:
1) I am not here to convince anyone that one lifestyle is better than another.
2) I believe in the right to choose the path that aligns with each individual’s values, circumstances, and life goals.
3) I encourage people to make balanced, informed, and thoughtful decisions rather than relying on harmful narratives, fear, or the experiences of others being presented as universal truths.
4) I believe it is important to discuss the more complex and uncomfortable realities of parenthood that are not always openly talked about. Caring about children also means caring about the people who may one day raise them. Those considering parenthood deserve honest information and thoughtful conversations before making such a life-changing decision.
Three truths can exist at once:
• Parenthood can be deeply meaningful.
• A child-free life can be deeply meaningful.
• Neither path makes someone inherently superior. Fulfillment isn’t one-size-fits-all 🫶🏽
👉🏽 Something many people may not realize: Child-free individuals often have a unique perspective and lived experience that others may never personally encounter.
This is especially true when it comes to the comments, assumptions, and expectations that are often directed specifically toward people who choose not to have children.
Many child-free individuals experience being on the receiving end of misconceptions, unsolicited opinions, and assumptions from both well-meaning people and those who are simply uninformed, unwilling to learn, or disrespectful.
At the same time, there are also many conclusions made about parenthood before the experience is fully lived and understood. Parenthood is a complex, evolving journey, and many realities only become visible through experience, reflection, and honest conversations.
The purpose of this education is to encourage curiosity, challenge assumptions, and create more space for honest conversations about the many different ways people experience fulfillment, identity, and meaning.
